Welcome!

Welcome to the first official post of the wild and crazy adventures of David (he's the one on the left) and Heather (that would be me... the one on the right).
This particular photo was taken during our most recent adventure to the Delaney Park Loop of the Knobstone Trail.

<----- (proof that we were actually at the Delaney Park Trailhead)

One thing that has become pretty apparent over the course of the last year is that David and I have an aversion to sitting still. Our idea of "down time" normally means we're taking a road trip somewhere. Recently, we've added hiking to our list of relaxing activities.

Now this particular hike landed us each with some mystery contact dermatitis which has been diagnosed by one physician as being poison ivy/oak/sumac... and by another physician as being an attack of alien born chiggers... either way, we've both spent the past week trying not to scratch the skin off of our lower extremities.... and planning out our next hiking adventure.

We managed the 5 1/2 mile loop in just over 2 hours. Not bad considering we're rather new at hiking, and we had some rather challenging hillsides to maneuver.

This handy little graph gives you an idea of the elevations we were climbing (the highest point being about 907 feet which is right about the 3 mile point).

In the end, it was an experience that I will definitely always remember.... partially because I'm certain there will be permanent scarring from the mystery dermatological ailment.... mostly because I can think of no one else I would have rather done it with.
